Bengaluru, May 2026
Hrishikesh Kamat, Founder and CEO of Shalaka Connected Devices, represented the company across five sessions at India Electronics Week (IEW) 2026, one of India’s most prominent gatherings for the electronics, embedded systems, and AI community. The event ran from 13 to 15 May at the KTPO Convention Centre, Whitefield, Bengaluru, bringing together industry leaders, academics, and technologists from across India and beyond.
He delivered two solo talks and took part in three panel discussions, sharing practical insights from over a decade of building IoT, IIoT, and AI-powered products.
Sessions in brief:
- Panel: AIoT on Cloud, Selecting the Right Hosting Solution. The takeaway was that hosting decisions for AIoT are operational, not vendor-driven. Scalability, edge-cloud integration, security, and cost only deliver value when designed around real deployment conditions.
- Panel: Budget Planning and Management for R&D Teams. The central message was that engineering teams which cannot speak the language of financial discipline lose budget battles they should win. Innovation and cost control are not opposites.
- Panel: What Should an Ideal College Lab Look Like? The panel argued that the gap between what students learn and what industry needs is an environment problem, not a curriculum one. The shift to hands-on, IoT and AI-driven labs is no longer optional.
- Solo Talk: What AI Means for Your Career, Threat, Tool, or Opportunity? The honest answer: AI is reshaping roles faster than most organisations are prepared for, and the people best positioned are those who treat it as a tool and build the judgment to use it well.
- Solo Talk: Smarter Devices, Faster Teams. The argument was that AI is no longer a feature added at the end of development. It now changes how teams ideate, design, validate, deploy, and support connected devices, and teams that adopt it across the full journey will outpace those that do not.
Shalaka Connected Devices works with OEMs, enterprises, and product teams on embedded and IoT system architecture, engineering governance, Industrie 4.0 strategy, and AI implementation.
