Hrishikesh Kamat, Founder and CEO of Shalaka Connected Devices, recently had the opportunity to conduct a guest session at ARAI Academy, Pune, focused on Automotive Embedded Systems.

Automotive embedded is one of those domains where the gap between academic knowledge and industry reality is particularly wide. Modern vehicles run anywhere from 70 to 150 ECUs, managing real-time communication across CAN, LIN, FlexRay, and Ethernet — and are increasingly expected to behave like software-defined platforms, with all the safety and certification overhead that comes with it.

The session was designed to bridge some of that gap, covering key topics including architecture fundamentals, communication protocols, AUTOSAR, functional safety, and emerging trends like ADAS and connected vehicle stacks.

Shalaka Connected Devices works at the intersection of embedded systems, IoT, and AI, and engages actively with the academic and research community to help close the industry-academia divide in the electronics and automotive space.

We thank the ARAI Academy team — Jay Chauhan, Sanjay Patil, and Rajesh Patil — for the invitation and for facilitating such a meaningful interaction. Looking forward to more sessions like this.
